Roosevelt Corollary

This cartoon is about Roosevelt is a rough rider and is knocking off all the countries that are coming into America. The cartoonist's message is that the Roosevelt corollary does not let any countries to enter the US. People might think, why would Roosevelt should use force to get other countries out of our country, and the reason is that other countries would not leave with out a little "push". The cartoonist uses labeling to tell you what every one is.
The Annexation of Hawaii

The queen of Hawaii and uncle Sam are on a seesaw for sugar and Hawaii. Uncle Sam is winning. The Americans want Hawaii because the ground is very good for growing sugar. The queen did not want America to have Hawaii, so they did not give up Hawaii or sell it. Some people would say that we really don't need Hawaii, but people others who really like sugar or people who live there but did not live there before might say "yes, we should have taken Hawaii". Spanish American War

This cartoon is about when Spain was fighting Cuba because Cuba wanted independence but Spain did not give it to them so they rebelled. The rebellion was not a big deal but when it disturbed the trading with America and Cuba, America joined the war on Cuba's side. After America joined the war, Spain started invading Tampa so America "released" their army and navy on Spain. People who don't know what Cuba was trading America would have said that we should have stayed out of the war, but if the things that Cuba was trading us war very useful then I think they would have that we should have joined the war. In the cartoon, they used labeling with showing what is what and they also use symbolism by showing what everything is like.

The issue in this political cartoon is every one wanting part of china to influence. In the background "China" is yelling at every one to stop taking china for themselves. The cartoonist's message is that since china is letting countries in, countries want to take china for them selves but other countries want parts of china, so countries are fighting over it. People might think that it is wrong to fight over a country that is just letting trade with them, and you try to take it all for your self. The cartoonist used labeling and symbolism. The labeling is on the pie which is showing that it is china and symbolism is china being pie and the people being the countries that want china for themselves.

The cartoon is saying that President Roosevelt is a police man that is protecting America from other countries. Some people might ask themselves, why would America want to make something to protect America from other countries? America needed that or else other countries would try to take America. The cartoonist used a little labeling and used symbolisms. The cartoonist used labeling in telling what every thing was like where Roosevelt was standing and where the other people from other countries were coming from. The symbolisms is the big stick which is the Roosevelt Corollary and that Roosevelt is a police man.

This political cartoon is about Roosevelt digging the panama canal. The cartoonist's message is after Roosevelt helped panama get out of Columbia's rule, panama had to repay America by building the panama canal. people would ask why they would want a canal in panama, and the reason behind that is so it would not take so long to get from the pacific ocean to the Atlantic ocean. The cartoonist used exaggeration by making Roosevelt big and labeling with the treaty the signed which is the little yellow flag.
